Welcome from the Head

Our programme for students making this transition at the end of Year 11 has been carefully designed to ensure that students and parents are fully informed about the process of gaining entry into our Sixth Form. Every year we also welcome fifty or more students into our Sixth Form from other schools. The contributions of these students enhance and enrich Drayton Manor.

The school offers over 25 A Level courses, a BTEC qualification in Creative Media, the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and the OCR Cambridge Level 2 in Business and Finance. At the same time the Sixth Form at Drayton Manor provides the breadth of experience, which is essential for the challenging requirements of our rapidly changing world.

Enrichment Programme

The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities. On Wednesday afternoons all Sixth Formers are required to opt in to a range of activities including Duke of Edinburgh Award, The Community Service Programme, Chess Society, Creative Arts Society, Medicine Society and the Debating Club.

Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)

The Extended Project Qualification is an optional qualification that is worth half an A2 Level and up to 70 UCAS points. It enables students to explore and area of personal interest or extend a particular aspect of a subject specification in greater depth. It also develops independent learning and research skills that are valued by universities and employers. To view a selection of titles that previous students have completed, please click here

In addition to AS/A Level study, the PE Faculty provides an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities at the school. The school aims to maintain the traditional nature of school sport as well as following the diverse interest of the students. We have had some noticeable achievements. Drayton Manor is only the second school to reach both the boys’ and girls’ English Schools Football National Finals. The First XI Boys’ football team won the Middlesex Cup, making Drayton Manor only the third team to win the First XI Middlesex Cup twice since it began in 1967. The Under 18s and Under 14s both reached the Middlesex cup final. The Under 15s reached the semi-finals of the annual Isleworth and Syon Rugby Sevens event at Grasshoppers RFC. Our netball teams are also incredibly successful with different year groups regularly winning borough leagues and tournaments. For a complete list of all our sporting achievements by year, click here
