Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Casual Painter & Decorator to assist with a range of painting and decorating tasks on a flexible, as-needed basis. This role is ideal for someone with practical experience who is looking for occasional work and can adapt to varying project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming)
Applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and fixtures
Protecting surrounding areas with dust sheets, tape, and coverings
Mixing paints and matching colours as required
Carrying out minor repairs to surfaces prior to decorating
Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines
Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition
Following health and safety guidelines at all times
Cleaning up work areas after completion of tasks
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in painting and decorating (commercial or domestic)
Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools
Good attention to detail and quality
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Basic understanding of health and safety practices
Reliable, punctual, and flexible
Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
Desirable (Not Essential)
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Painting & Decorating or similar)
Full driving licence
Own tools and transport
Working Hours
Casual / flexible hours depending on project needs
May include occasional evenings or weekends
